In this third part, we look at modeling the architecture of the scene, from the basic floor to the detailed support beams on the ceiling.
Feel free to skip a few parts in this record-breaking-length tutorial if you do not need to know how to do the basic room.

Another cool tut. Again, thanks for sharing Greg
"I've been busy because of school".
How dare you be so talented so young. When I was at school, extracurricular studies went as far as "What's the best pub on the Hertford Road?" and we only had to ask the teachers that anyway (we were allowed in the Black Horse as it was crap but not under any circumstances in the Plough (now unfortunately closed) as the teachers all used that one).
You guys at blendernerd are doing such a cool job! Keep it up!
Just what I was waiting for!
Man, that was cool! :-) Experimenting as you go, doing something, undoing it, trying this, trying that, rumbling along the way... Love it!
If I were recording a tutorial, I would write myself a script and then rehearse it until I could recite it when woken up at 3am, and that would have been boring. Your tuts certainly aren't.
That's one thing I admire about Gen Y: their ability to live 100% out in the open. No private thoughts, thanks to Twitter; no private moments thanks to Facebook... is a place to live only necessary to protect you from the outside weather now?
But I'm rumbling -- damn, it's contagious! :-)
Cool, I've been looking forward to the next installment.
Very very usefull tutoriel ! Thanks !!!!!
These tutorials are fantastic. Easy to follow and I'm learning loads. Thanks so much for taking so much trouble to make them great.
This tutorial is wonderful. But how do I scroll within the dining hall? Whenever I scroll around to modify an object from which part faces inside the dining hall I get on the other side of the whole room. For some reason I can not go inside the building. How do I change that?
Try selecting an object and hitting the '.' (del) key on your number pad. This will center the view on that object.
